The O. C. \ th ee oh-see \ n:  a region known for waterscapes, beaches, beautiful people and, contrary to popular belief, located in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.
Oneida County is located in the heart of Wisconsin’s Northwoods. Lakeside resorts, towering pine forests and friendly communities define this region. The area’s lakes and rivers are famous for their musky, walleye, smallmouth bass and crappie fishing. Anglers, boaters and paddlers can choose from hundreds of lakes, ranging from secluded ponds to sprawling flowages of more than ten-thousand acres.
Hikers, mountain bikers, cross-country skiers and snowshoers can explore more than twenty woodland trails totaling more than 250 miles. Snowmobilers can ride 350 miles of local trails.
The communities of Rhinelander, Minocqua, Pelican Lake, Three Lakes, Hazelhurst, Lake Tomahawk, St. Germain, Tomahawk and Woodruff each offer their own unique shops, restaurants and lodging options. Shops and galleries sell the works of the many local artists who live and work in Oneida County. Annual art tours and a summer arts school attract visitors from around the Midwest.
But Oneida County is more than just a vacation destination—it’s an incredible place to live, work and do business. An excellent airport, fantastic schools, great healthcare, a low cost of living and a highly skilled workforce combine to fuel a healthy and diverse local economy.
